My Land's Shore has been in development since 2002, during which time it has attracted an acclaimed following from audiences, actors and theatre aficionados alike. The show's fan-base continued to grow across social media following the release of the studio cast album by SimG Records, which sold all over the world on iTunes (with consistent 5 star ratings) and as a “hard copy” on CD. Audience reaction to various performances of songs from the score at venues across London have been nothing short of euphoric, and there are even fans living in the USA who are so in love with the show that they were prepared to fly across the Atlantic just to see the workshop production. It is clear that My Land’s Shore has the potential to become a massive success all over the world.
Within the musical theatre industry itself, there is a huge “buzz” about My Land’s Shore. Many prominent producers and directors, including Daniel Evans at the Sheffield Crucible, have shown great interest in the piece. Eminent musical theatre actors - including John Owen Jones, Killian Donnelly, David Hunter, Rebecca Trehearn and Will Barratt - have expressed massive interest in performing roles in the show should the piece go into full production.
Following a successful professional workshop of the entire piece at RADA studios in London in January 2013 - with award-winning orchestrator Tom Curran - the show has gone on to premiere in London in 2017 at the Rose and Crown Theatre. There the production was nominated for three Off West End Awards, including "Best New Musical".
My Land’s Shore is ready to be presented to audiences in Wales and, indeed, across the globe and has all the ingredients required to become an artistic, cultural and commercial world-wide phenomenal success. Although the piece has the potential to be a large, epic production, the creative team has also developed a version that will use only 15 actors (at least 8 of which will be actor/musicians). All it needs is people with vision, heart and courage to provide the necessary financial impetus to launch a production and create a special piece of musical theatre that Wales, and the entire world, can be proud of.
